The capital of Greece is steeped in history & also mythology & is an archaeologist’s dream come true.
Everyone I’m sure knows it’s the home to a runner up in the New7 Wonders of The World having just been pipped to the post by a giant scarecrow in Brazil.
But, even though the Acropolis lost out, its status was massively elevated when it became a focal point in 1987’s The Chipmunk Adventure.
Among the many ancient temples & gift shops is the temple of the king of the Greek gods, Zeus.
Besides being a god, he was also a pretty successful children’s author & fondly remembered for witty quotes such as, “He should not be here, " said the fish in the pot. " he should not be here when your mother is not.” (Bloke down the pub knew that by heart.)
But, despite his fame, he always lived in the shadow of Athens’ most famous son, Baywatch fan & founder member of Mötley Crüe, Tommy (T-Bone) Lee.
Quite a gathering going to see our lads tonight with figie , snuffybear , Johnnakis (with all of Accureacy), altendalton , stealthily , mrsstealthily , fabio71 , strangedayz , indi14 , olivier , yassoo & Mr & Mrs slowcure all heading to the Plateia Nerouafter after they’ve finished their moussaka helped down with unholy amounts of Mythos. We wish you all a magical night of mythical proportions.
Not sure on the stream front so we'll either play it by ear or snuffybear might scope it.
As for colours, the poster for the festival is a lovely collection of purples & blues, so we'll have a few of those tonight
