Live report: June 23rd, Hurricane Festival, Scheeßel

Almost an 8 hour bus ride north on the A7 which has quite a lot of roadworks & the boys reach the sister festival of Southside & one that has a much cooler name.
Named after the world famous snooker star, Alex Hurricane Higgins, the organisers opted for Hurricane as they deemed Higgins not edgy enough (according to bloke down the pub).
Our venue this evening is near to the Eichenring speedway track in Scheeßel which is a bugger to type unless you install a German keyboard layout & memorise where that ß key is.
Scheeßel itself is in Rothenburg in Lower Saxony & celebrated it’s 1214th anniversary this year. So happy birthday Scheeßel.
Again, a bit thin on the ground for famous people but Lower Saxony is the birthplace of former Arsenal legend The BFG & the chap whom without we’d never have the chance to burn down a science lab.
Oh, & of course, the Pied Piper Of Hamlelin.
On the ground tonight we have wilgy & snoopy (who is taking a break from the air bass this evening).
They’ve no doubt partaken of some Gruenkohl with Baumkuchen for desert & plenty of Gose ahead of this evening’s event, so we wish them a brilliant show.
Being the sister festival of Friday/ Saturday’s shindig, they also sport the same trash panda logo, so we get a few more green shades in the setlist tonight.
