Live report: June 21st, Southside Festival Neuhausen ob Eck

Neuhausen ob Eck has an even shorter wikipedia page than Nicklesdorf, so this should be a laugh.
Oh wait! The German wiki page is much better.
Neuhausen ob Eck is actually an airfield so be sure to bring your plane spotter’s books & binoculars for a riveting day out.
Just a stone’s throw to the right of Tuttlingen, the airbase was primarily used during WWII until the French Army took over in 1945 & used it to store cows….apparently.
After re-unification much of the airfield was eventually turned into a business park with the airplaney bit being rented out every summer for the Southside Festival.
Rather disappointingly, the Red Baron wasn’t born there (not even bloke down the pub could justify that one). Neither was anyone of much note to be honest, but spreading the search statewide to Baden-Württemberg reveals that the chap behind such box office flops as Independence Day & The Patriot seems to be about the most famous name. & let’s not forget he was also responsible for casting Ferris Bueller in that dreadful Godzilla film.
Not only him though. It would be remiss of me to forget that Magneto also hails from Baden-Württemberg & he has the power to mess up those old credit cards with the little black strips. You have been warned.
So, after a leisurely bus ride up the E35 (or even on the Via Statale 12 thus avoiding tolls) our travelling band of Rock Hall red carpet fame roll into town to headline the Friday night.
Joining them will be jofigurehead & Millhaus who will no doubt have a right good time after a hearty bowl of Flädle soup, a portion of Egli (not the singer
) & a few bottles of Rothaus.
For colours this evening, the festival has a rather spectacular green trash panda as a logo, so let’s use some greens for a change.
