K, so I’ve changed my mind, it’s not that good, it’s actually not good at all. But I’m laughing a bit here and there though.
It's really not good at all. Do not waste your time and bail out now before it's too late! It's trying so hard to be a sendup of a certain type of movie, like The Girl On the Train. My wife and I thought this failed miserably. If you want a good satirical take on that genre, watch A Simple Favor with Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick instead. 😉

Well, having Alec Guinness star in the series is a pretty tough act to follow.
He is a class act (so good that Le Carre tweaked the character in the books to fit Guiness' interpretation) but it's not just him - the pace, tone and storytelling is just spot on.
