I splurged for the VIP tickets. I hope the toilet situation will be like the beautiful oasis I had in my dreams! 😀
We did VIP as well. It was well worth the money for the Hyde Park show. Hoping for similar with this show.
What were the VIP areas like in Hyde Park? I had planned on going, but had to give away my ticket at the last second due to a terribly tragic incident.
So after last year's trials, I'm hoping Pasadena will be a great time and make up for missing Hyde Park.
This is the first festival I've gone to since I was a teenager, so I'm really curious on what to expect. What I'm hoping for is PLENTY of shade (I am very very fair and burn easily) and clean toilets. From what I hear the VIP section will be to the extreme left or right of the stage, so if the vantage point is that bad, I *may* slink over to GA.
I say *may* as my tastes over the past 20 years have changed, I now want to be comfortable.

To be clear, when I say "hoping for similar" with the Pasadena show's VIP offerings, I mean, I hope it's worth the money in the same way it was worth the extra money for Hyde Park.
Also, it's a completely different venue and promoters and all, so I'm definitely not expecting the same experience in Pasadena. But having said that, here is what the Hyde Park setup was like for VIP... Off to the side of the stage and main viewing area there was a separate gated entrance, our own food and merch vendors, shaded and tented areas with oversized pillows and beanbag chair type cushions. From a couple of them, you could actually see the main stage -- We watched Pale Waves, Slowdive, Editors, and Goldfrapp from there because it was just too hot to be out in the sun. There was a whole area (maybe one-quarter) of the front of the stage that was barricaded off for VIP and those that paid for Premium View that you could wander into, but there was no relief from the heat there.
We actually did the next tier up of VIP that included not only everything above, but also had Terrace grandstand access, which was a really nice perk. it was a raised and tiered and shaded standing only viewing area immediately behind the VIP area at ground level. We watched Interpol and The Cure from there. I'm usually an into the fray, front of the barricade concert-goer, but it was just too hot for me. Thanks to the VIP area and the Terrace, we had a great time!

Thank you for your comments. I just really hope for plenty of shade! This is my primary reason for purchasing VIP, and of course the bathroom situation sounds delightful! I'm a bits disappointed blankets are not permitted in the VIP areas. Maybe I'll bring one just in case I venture out into the GA section.
