Well I do think the new songs are way,way better than the last two albums.
There were some absolutely brilliant tunes on the last 2 albums, but I am quite fond of this more dense sounding side of the band. I've read & heard a lot of Disintegration comparisons, but I don't think any of the new songs bear any resemblance to that album at all. They sound closer to Faith than anything else. Thematically majestic and monumental.

Valid point & I totally get that too. But I didn't really feel that when I saw them played. Maybe there's a cross-over but they certainly don't bear any resemblance to Disintegration whatsoever. Anyone who thinks this will be Disintegration 2.0 is probably going to be very disappointed. More Faithflowers
Of course you can't satisfy everyone. I guess some fans might not like even Disintegration or Pornography, but love some other albums...
there are always someone who just wants to complain, it seems to be more and more of that in general, these days
I think the bottom line is we like what we like. I don't particularly like any of WMS. That doesn't make it bad & doesn't mean I'm complaining. It just means I don't like it.

I hope for something qualitatively better than Bloodflowers. But I think we'll be in that general ballpark. But already a song like Endsong is far superior to anything on Bloodflowers.
But Disintegration (and 17 Seconds, Faith, Pornography) are in another league, I think.

Not even Want?
Not the studio version. No. It just sounds like scary fairground music. Live, on the other hand, it's a totally different animal.

There will never be another Disintegration & that's okay. I'd rather there wasn't otherwise it wouldn't be such a standout album. It will always be a special record to many fans of The Cure even to the point of being hailed as their best. I personally don't think it is, but that's just my opinion & as the kids say, "YMMV".

I don’t think it is either. There are at least four records I like better than Disintegration.
.......but hey at the moment I'm listening to live version of Gone from the Jools Hollands show on YouTube back in the 90's so what does that say about me!
That one with the female background singers? I love that version.
Yes the one with the horn section and backing singers, I think it’s absolutely fantastic and you can see the band are enjoying themselves
