I haven't been digging into all posts of this thread, but I came upon this interview in which Robert did a prediction about 2 new albums - I can't imagine he was just telling nonsense. Was that the last he said about it?
We are supposed to get the new album and a solo album of noise rock, apparently.
And then of course 4:14 Scream, the BBC box set, The Cure in Orange on Blu-ray, a book of poems called Glass Sandwich, etc.
I think it's safe to say that the new songs that are currently being played live will be part of a new album that will hopefully be released sometime next year. I wouldn't count on anything else. But the new songs are great so that would be plenty for me.
But if an album is released in a forest and no-one's around to hear it, does it make a sound? :-)
Records only make sounds when they are on turntables, I have noticed records that aren't in play are very quiet, even when there are many of them together, and even those who you think wouldn't get along.
So if you lose "A Forest" in a forest, you can safely assume that it won't make a sound.
Not true, they make a sound when they hit the edges of a trash can, the only place vinyl belongs.
So the last sound A Forest made before it was never heard again was "The Final Sound" made?

If you have a lead on Brisbane 21 August 1992 - CT version, for the love of Bob, let me know. Please!

In some interviews he talked about material for 3 new albums:
- The doom and gloom one (songs of a lost world)
- a more upbeat album, but he wasn't very satisfied with the songs yet
- a noise thing, which was more meant to become a solo project, as the others didn't like it
But I think it's safe to assume only the release of the first one, sometime next year.
The other two seem completely up in the air.
Also, the new songs premiered live on this tour sound too much like a last swan, great goodbye thing for me to expect any new release after those.

The new songs are incredibly strong live. Endsong is a monster for me! Brilliant! I'm really looking forward to the whole album. It's kind of unbelievable that there isn't even a vague date. I expected something at the start of the tour. Now the European dates are on the home straight and there isn't even an update. Amazing.

My guess is that some songs are not yet finalised in terms of vocals and lyrics. So I don't think it's about having to mix songs already recorded; I think some songs still need to be recorded with definitive vocals.
That's my impression from seeing how the vocals and lyrics of at least some of the new songs (ICNSG in particular) slightly changed during the tour from gig to gig.
Yes, it's probably the most likely scenario as well. I've also read about delays at the vinyl pressing plants and haven't ruled out that possibility either. But it semms to be the unlikely variant.
Robert just announced the name of the first single of the new album.
I loved the European part of the "Lost World Tour". And I also loved, that Robert did not give a single interview during the whole tour to avoid speaking about the upcoming album.
