I wouldn't be super surprised Birthday wasn't on the album, since they only played it a few times last year and then it just disappeared, I suspect RS felt it lacking somehow. But I don't presume to know for sure.
Does anyone think the vinyl will have different songs than the CD or the UK CD will have different songs than the US?
I hope not. I really don't like when there are multiple different tracklists based on format or region.
It's a bit different with regard to the extra instrumentals in the Deluxe Edition. That's more an appendix kind of thing... it would be like Lost Wishes (I hope it's additional instrumental songs and not just instrumental versions of the album songs, but suspect it may be just the latter).

It was a bit weak
I don´t agree. It is a super slow, low key song that was unknown to most of the people in the audience and it did not have the benefit of a song like "Alone" that was the show opener and was carried by the people´s enthusiasm of the Band taking the stage. That´s the reasons I think there was a pretty muted reaction of the audience to this song. Some songs really does not click live which does not mean they are weak. For me personally comes "Bare" to mind. Listening to this alone is something different than in a huge crowd. I personally experienced this song completely failing with the audience during the Swing-Tour.

I'm streaming alone on apple music and with my earbuds i'm getting these really annoying crackle and pop clipping sounds. When i listen to the lyric video on youtube i don't get these. is anyone else noticing this?
song is amazing though

I listened to 'alone' and couldn't listen to it twice in a row. What a fragile and beautiful masterpiece. It touches me so much more than the live versions in the concerts, probably because it was always the first song.
If the whole album has this quality and intensity, It should almost be censored or come with a warning.

Yes, I think I like the studio version more than the live version, or at least I found it more intense, emotional, atmospheric.

I think Another Happy Birthday is a good song. I would consider it the weakest (or less strong) of the new material they played in 2022-2023, but still a beautiful song.
Thematically and atmospherically, it fits this album.
However, if all 6 of those new songs are there, there's only 2 "actually new" and that is a bit disappointing (unless the instrumentals are also new stuff).

So, I've listened to Alone a few times now, out loud and on headphones and I have to say I'm underwhelmed. It was glorious live, this version is missing something, it seems muffled - like Underneath The Stars, superb live but just okay as a studio track. The "first new song in sixteen years" lustre has already faded for me.
And where are those gorgeous melodies gone - the ones played by RS as he picked his Bass VI at the end of the song ?? Underwhelmed by the mix, too. Hope I'll get use to it in a while, but it's like something is gone...

I just listened to a FLAC version of the song with my headphones. Did not hear this.

Yes I already mentioned it in this thread. This part is kind of buried in the mix. But it is still there, you can hear it if you actively focus on it (knowing from the live versions that it exists). I am puzzled why they do not highlight this part like they did in the live version.

At what point of the song would it be (in relation to the lyrics)?

Agree! The more I listen, the more I hear.
Also can't wait to hear the studio version of Another Happy Birthday, which brings me to tears every single time I dwell into both music, words and its combined visualisation in my head. This song resonates with me to an extent I cannot even explain, due to personal life experiences. Same for ANIF, ICNBTS and ICNSG, a necessary combination.
Throughout all my life The Cure has been a / the cure at the right time and place, and this time is no different... Where did it go...
