Tonight we’re off to the Royal Festival Hall for CURÆTION-25 in “that” London.
As part of the South Bank Centre the venue is situated on the banks of the River Thames, not far from where The Wind In The Willows happened.
But Mole, Rat, Badger & Toad won’t be on the bill this evening as our (not goth at all) hero, Mr Smith has never worked with them in his 40 years with The Cure.
The venue’s acoustics were originally slagged off for being “too dry” so, in 1962 Leo Beranek was hired to turn up the bass a bit. However, this became unreliable over the years & in 2007 the acoustics were completely remastered & even made adjustable by way of acoustic canopies. A bit like a giant, floppy graphic equaliser.
But enough of the technical guff. On their way to see Robert bring his Meltdown to a close will be
czuczu , wilgy , ohfuchsia , gothmaz , andy , mel , yassoo , godwina , cdm22 , slowcure , gmfree , steve , sang , pillowman , snoopy , olivier , jofigurehead , danceback , fabio71 , Kea
Just as soon as they’ve finished their bangers & mash & jellied eels all washed down with buckets of gin.
We’re not sure what tonight will hold, so bear with us as we attempt to bring you updates as & when they happen.
As always, if you do stumble across a ‘scope, post the link in the thread, although we hear filming is frowned upon.
Righto. Let’s do this thing shall we?
