I don't think he's delayed on things that are this ready. He's already remastered "Wish". Folks, I'm pretty sure it'll be out by the end of the year.
The fact the rest of you doubt this is now making me worry...
And I was so happy!
Oh, dear. My mother forbade me from betting when I was a little kid and it's stuck with me, but if I were a betting woman, I'd wager it won't be this year.
But don't worry, muldfeld, you'll be OK. And I do believe it will probably happen eventually. As they say, "Don't wait under water."
I had kind of hoped they do a Mixed Up show but it will never happen....
I don't know that it would make ANYONE really happy... people wanting a "Cure hits" show would be confused, diehards who never loved the remixes would complain... and a 20% group of attendees would be loving it. LOL
That would make ME really happy! I love the Mixed Up album! I remember reading Smith saying once he somewhat regretted they had not made such a show at the time. Don't worry people, it won't happen...

I don't recall him ever saying that. Personally I am more than glad they never did Messed Up live & hope that they never do.

Off topic: First post here, but I've been a regular member of Curiosity.de and MFC forums, if someone here was a member of those. Just haven't had the time (or interest) anymore to actively contribute to Cure fan forums. The Cure is still "the band" for me while I have to admit that I don't listen to them as much as I used to.
On topic: They actually have played a kind of Lullaby (extended version) live once or twice. They used samples that only appear in the extended version and the song was longer than an usual live version, maybe 5+ mins. I remember hearing a bootleg recording of this. I'm not exactly sure about the date or year, but I recall it happened during the Prayer tour (could be Swing tour also). I have lost all my bootlegs, so if someone here has a copy of this, I would be happy to hear this version again. The recording quality wasn't actually top notch if my memory is right.

Hello & welcome to the forum. The extended Lullaby was the one used on Messed Up & ran to 7'43" (ish) The single was already a remix & songs always sound slightly different live anyway (slightly different arrangements, no fancy production engineers, PA instead of a hi fi etc.) They have (thankfully) never played any of the messed up versions live.
Caen 1989 is listed as Extended Remix version on cureconcerts as far as Lullaby goes. Sounded messed up if memory serves but I like that they tried something different in the middle of a tour I suppose.

Yeah, that's the one! And someone has actually uploaded the whole gig to YouTube. I timestamped the link to start from Lullaby:
They've played the mixed up version of close to me live too.
Personally I'm a big fan of mixed up, all those legendary extended 12" versions. Some of them I would class as the definitive version of the song. For example the album version of Fascination Street sounds very tame compared to the incredible extended version.

I agree about the extended version of Fascination Street being the best version of the song. Actually I think that the extended version is one of my favourite Cure songs, but the album version is pretty mediocre. I also like the infamous "helicopter version" of Fascination Street (The Cure - Fascination Street - Glastonbury 1990) That version just somehow rocks more when they start playing the song again after the break. Maybe it's that they start the song with the guitar riff.
