I know there's going to be a lot of us going to the show this summer, so let's throw it out there. Anyone got a good venue suggestion for a meet up? Perhaps some locals know of any nearby haunts that would be suitable. Pretty sure that if there's a big enough crowd a bar or pub would be happy to have the custom. So. Any suggestions?
Okay. Pay attention everyone. Here's the plan. July 6th. (for those going to The Cureheads' show & anyone else who wants to tag along)
Picnic in Regent's Park. North East corner next to the zoo. 1pm *
The times will be "firmed up" soon, but can be flexible. The idea was to combine a bit of The Cure history with the meetup & have some fun & also to cope with the numbers as we'll be making this a joint meetup with Curefans & The Pink Dream forums.
* Picnics in the parks are allowed & so is alcohol, but be responsible please. Also, make sure to take any litter away to dispose of. London's enough of a dump with us making it worse
The Shiiine On team are running a pre Hyde Park River cruise on 7th July 2018.
Steve Lamacq (BBC Radio 6) will be DJIng on the cruise along the Thames. The cruise is 3 hours and is back in plenty of time for doors opening at Hyde Park.
Departs Temple Pier (Embankment tube) at Midday and back at 3pm
Probably a bit of a daft question but what about getting into Hyde Park early enough to get into the front of stage area? I was thinking that we would have to queue from quite early morning in order to get a wristband for that area or am I just getting over excited and don’t really need to be there early? We’ve got Primary Entry tickets.
If you paid for primary entry, you'd better use it i guess. Otherwise you would loose the advantage of the primary entry. The problem is that BST has a "once you're in you won't get out policy". Even if the boat trip would start at 1pm, you would not be allowed to get a wristband at 12:30pm and come back later.
It's probably worth noting that the ways things are heading in the World Cup, England may be playing in the Quarter Final on the same day*, at 3pm. So you might find Hyde Park is half-empty until 5pm!
*Depends on whether Belgium or England win the group.

Back in the day, John Peel would have kept everyone up to date between bands..
What sort of time do you think the meet-up will finish up and head through the gates?
I’m guessing people will leave as and when, depending on their tickets etc, but I was wondering what the general thinking was...
