GW3: Deadline 11:30 BST Saturday 26th August

I honestly thought it would be a whole lot closer. I even predicted a 2-2 draw.

With GW3 all sewn up, let’s have a little look back at the main points.

The early game on the South coast saw Citeh snatch a late winner in a game most notable for Mike “Death” Dean who, for some reason, added 10 minutes of stoppage time & then secured his place in the headlines by sending off Sterling for celebrating the winning goal. 
Palace continued to Palace things up at Selhurst, losing to Swansea & prompting de Boer to tell his players to ”grow a pair”. 
The Terriers keep their unbeaten run as they held Southampton at home & Newcastle finally got off the mark, putting 3 past England 1st choice keeper, Hart, to root the Hammers to the foot of the table.
Brighton couldn’t overcome a 10 man Watford side, but still managed their first premier league point in a goalless draw and the late game saw Mourinho’s marauders keep another clean sheet in a game that caused FPL managers with Lukaku as captain all to scream in unison as he missed a penalty. The game brought us a touching moment before kick-off when Lukaku hugged Pogba as the realisation that he wasn’t even the 2nd most expensive player ever started to sink in.
That left just 4 matches to play on Sunday & Chelsea seem to have found their form, as 2 first half goals saw off Everton whose away strip is a sort of pants-left-in-wash off-white this season.
West Brom gifted Stoke an equaliser in an otherwise dull affair at the Hawthorns & we all got settled in & comfy for the 2 big games of the weekend.
At Wembley, Burnley’s new, record signing Chris Wood continued Spurs Wembley curse, but Pochettino maintained that it's not Wembley that’s to blame. But…you know….Wembley…. ahem…
Meanwhile, at Anfield, Arsenal were practically a no-show as Liverpool turned up the rocket thrusters, hammering an unanswered 4 goals past a hapless Petr Cech. But Wenger has remained calm & is urging fans to keep the faith….Maybe he should say the same to his team.

But, “Enough!” I hear you shout. In FPL land it was the BB&S who prevailed by 6 points with 447 in total. 
This leaves the IGM in pole position though on 1559 overall.

So, as we all put our feet up while our heroes all trot off for international duty (oh joy) it falls to me to finish off the BBQ’d chicken wings (at least that’s what altendalton said they were when he cooked them). 
Then I’ll need to fix the neighbour’s fence which suffered a slight mishap before we moved the grill a wee bit further away . Still, it was a lovely day huh?
