Today The Cure head down to the Mediterranean coast to roll up their trouser legs for a quick paddle in the sea before tonight’s show in Montpellier.
To me, the word Montpellier conjures up an image of a finely crafted chocolate of the sort you find in a selection box like the one Forrest Gump rambled on about.
But no! It’s actually a city.Yeah, I know. I was taken aback too
In ancient times it was the primary centre for the spice trade where 1st edition copies of 2 Become 1 & acetates of Mama were presumably changing hands for vast sums of cash boosting the economy & the profile of pop music.
Its pop roots were further strengthened when the city decided to feature the Madonna proper on its coat of arms, cementing its place in popular music culture.*
