Offside referee!
Such was the cry from Martinez after John Terry’s 98th minute equaliser as Fergie time spilled out into Stamford Bridge. But the linesman was having none of it at all.
The top of the table is getting tight now as Leicester & Arsenal drop valuable points & City thump Palace at a snowy Etihad.
And Ruggy surprised again with another goal from open play in a game so devoid of quality, it almost got recalled.
The Geordies suffered mixed fortunes, as the Magpies halted the Hammers’ winning run & Sunderland’s new signing, Kirchhoff, made a nightmare debut including conceding a penalty to hand Spuds a 4-1 victory.
The Cherries saw off the Canaries, which prompted Stephen Fry to step down from the board while Watford appeared to not even turn up to the Swansea game & Southampton make it two from two with a win over West Brom.
& before the echoes of the final whistles faded into the ether, the press were already frothing at their collective gobs over transfer rumours.
Is De Gea off to Madrid? Will Chelski’s “mega stars” jump off the Bridge? Will Klopp buy another striker to keep the bench warm & is Pardew really considering Adebayor?
All will be revealed….maybe…possibly……pffft.
Meanwhile, in FPL land, the EIB suffered their biggest defeat of the season as the IGM delivered a crushing 167 point blow to end the EIB’s winning streak, taking the week 598-431
So it’s all change at the top, as Johnny Rev 7.0’s FC Bennweg-Zeis 1921 snatch both the Yellow Jersey & Big Shout Out falling just 7 points short of 100.
The IGM also took an 18-15 win in the H2H league, cutting the EIB’s lead down to 34 points, but the crown stays put with altendalton’s Deep Green Sea UTD for a second week.
So no party in the shed this week & an opportunity for me to creosote the door & remove all the spiders that seem to have taken refuge away from the snow outside. Although I think some have got into the heating fans judging by the odd burning smell when I turn them on.
Anyway, apologies for the mess & welcome everyone to your GW23 thread
