Finally, I can bring you a concise summary of what on earth happened at the weekend (sort of...)
So, we saw goal droughts ended. Wiggy finally got one that wasn't a penalty, Kane broke out of his seatbelt & Sanchez seems to have found his mojo
On the downside, the injuries are piling up & it's only GW7
Our snowflakes are dropping like flies with the worst case being almost everyone's bargain striker of choice, Callum Wilson.
& that's without any knocks being picked up in Europe this week!
From the pressers, we learnt that all managers are under pressure. Except one. But the Spacial one refused to name names for fear of retribution, as he appears to be on a fabled list of managers who will be punished for speaking their mind.
The Mahrez runaway train was finally derailed too, which came as a shock & leaving FPL managers with a bit of a conundrum come this weekend.
But, with unerring consistency, Tyneside are still propping up the entire league for another week
& so on to the main event. The rock n roll of the premier league. Some injuries were a blessing in disguise and auto subs made an impressive contribution to some ailing teams this week (phew)
The scores on the doors are....(insert drum roll here).......
EIB 494 - 408 IGM giving the EIB their first home win of the season by a pretty healthy, pencil trembling margin of +86 points & cutting down IGM's overall lead to 86 points in the process.
The heads across to Bristol, to @mort's Nobby Nobbs XI where he'll prolly be examining it for signs of survivors from Jo's expidition
& as a double whammy, the also goes out to Nobby Nobbs XI for a 72 point haul boosted on the final day by a Lukaku brace
& the mauling doesn't end there, with the H2H scores thus:
EIB 115 - 112 IGM for a GW lead of 3 points
However, still sitting pretty & donning her shiny pointy hat is emilystrange's Darkness AFC & Jo will no doubt be looking for a safe place to stash it where it won't snag a cardy as the rest of the pack start closing in
Meanwhile, back at the shed, I think all the stragglers from Monday's party have all left, although there was a scrabbling noise coming from behind the wheel barrow.
My best rake also took a pounding, as it was used as an impromptu mic stand for the karaoke that night where the spiky end almost got rammed up someone's nose while I did my best Steven Tyler impression for a rendition of Dream On
...ahem....
So without further ado, I will hand you all back to the man with the inky feather & a myriad of touch screen monitors over at Goth Denial Land for the lead up to GW8
Thanks everyone for dropping in & contributing. Been lovely to see you all again & look forward to the weekend.
