Well, their email explanation seems acceptable to me. They don't want to send out bad pressings. This is what they sent me:
Hi everyone,
We hope this finds you well.
We are getting in contact to let you know that, due to issues at the manufacturing plant, there will be a delay in the delivery of your pre order copy of It Never Was The Same on vinyl. This delay has affected all vinyl, both for pre order customers and those planning to buy the single at your local record store.
The reason for the delay is that the plant had to cut three test pressings before the quality was sufficient to provide the best listening experience. The additional time this took had a knock on effect impacting on when the vinyl could be put into manufacture. Both of these issues were out-with the control of our label FatCat who have been working hard to resolve the situation.
FatCat spoke to the plant again yesterday and they have been assured that the vinyl will be manufactured in the next week. Building in some time for packing and shipping we expect that you will now receive your copy around the 30th June. If anything changes we’ll let you know but we’re hopeful the plant will stick to this commitment and that there will be no further delays.
We are very sorry that your vinyl won’t be with you on Monday but hope that you understand we and FatCat only want to provide you with the highest quality product.
We would be happy to provide a refund should anyone wish - please email support@musicglue.com quoting your order reference number and our online store partner MusicGlue will arrange this.
Apologies again and thanks for your continuing support.

same here. i'd much rather have a good recording and wait
I actually liked the fact they took the time out to give a detailed honest explanation rather than just fobbing people off with some corporate waffle. I mean, you can't argue with what they said, can you?
