Fin del Mundo New to me at least. Some of you may already be familiar but I was pouring through kexp sessions & thought I'd look in on this lot. Argentinian shoegaze at its finest.
I set the video to start at El incendio, but the whole session is top drawer stuff
If anyone's keen, then they are touring Spain very shortly

I have been quite detached from new music in the last 15 years or so, at least. I haven't payed much attention to new bands and have been content with listening to familiar old favourites for the most part.
I also listen to music much less than I used to (much less free time, but also other hobbies have taken a more central role in my life, in particular reading).
All this preamble to say: would you guys point me to what you reckon the top 3 bands of the last 15 years or so are (specifically bands that you'd expect a Cure fan may like)?
As the prospects of a new album from The Cure look dimmer and dimmer, I think I need to make an effort to start "seeing other people"... :-)
Thanks in advance.
I hope this thread is suitable for this request. If not, Big Hands, feel free to move as appropriate.

I'm in the same boat as you. The only new band I've really listened to is Then Comes Silence

i can relate to this. My husband and I have fairly different musical tastes, so what I hear him play (and most of it isn't that new, anyway), I often don't care for.
I don't know if I can distill any recommendations down to a Top 3 in the past 15 years, but I think I understand the sentiment. One band I would recommend and regard highly is ACTORS from Canada. I won't try to describe them suffice to say I've never been even slightly disappointed by anything I've heard from their catalog. I believe they're fairly likely to be enjoyed by fans of TC, but YMMV.
FWIW, Bandcamp has been instrumental in helping me break out of a musical rut. I don't like the idea of algorithms curating everything we're exposed to but somehow Bandcamp makes it easy(ier) to branch out and it's very good for artists compared to a majority of streaming platforms.
I'm interested to see what other people recommend.

3 off the top of my head would be Crystal Canyon, Bleach Lab & NewDad. Way more recent than the last 15 years, but you won't regret it. Also worth going through the thread here. A lot of great bands feature & they're well worth lending an ear to.
