One went on eBay UK for £189 last week. Number was in the 400's. That's what prompted my post and because mine has no number and I couldn't find any info anywhere on the net. I think Vinyl values are only what someone is prepared to pay, with something like a new press limited edition, if initial demand outstrips supply there tends to be a frenzy and value surges until all those who desperately want one have one (RSD releases are a prime example)
With vinyl it's the tactile thing for me. I need to get the shrink wrap off, open the gatefold , take the vinyl out of the sleeve and play it. If it devalues it as an article so be it. I've got every official cure release I know on mp3 but nothing beats playing the vinyl for me.
And sound great. faith lp in particular sounds amazing on vinyl it emphasises the sparseness of it. A Forest on 12" and loud.....fantastic.
Well, with vinyls you're getting a full resolution analogue source (except for an alarming amount of recent reissues that are just the CD masters pressed to vinyl) without the influence of the loudness war. The closest you'll get digitally is SACD

I usually open mine in honesty but with Galore I didn't for some reason. Then found out it was a good thing lol
were they re-released without the limited numbering? Cos i'm seeing lots on ebay for about forty bucks??
There were versions released without the marbling, I have 2 copies. Maybe those are those ones? I had the marbled one on my xmas list when it came out as I recall it was November time, but no bugger bought me it and I missed out
