I've been raving about this band of late & as wilgy can attest, with good reason.
Describing their genre as "Dream pop, Shoegaze, Thunder pop", this five piece from St Petersburg are going to be huge this year. If you imagine MBV meet Cocteau Twins & decide to channel Lush & Ride, then you'll be pretty damn close.
Their EP "Happy songs for happy zombies" is a good introduction to them & is available on their Bandcamp page in all sorts of formats for a snip ($5 or more if you feel like it).
If you're a "try before you buy" sort of person, you can hear the tracks on their Soundcloud page where you can also leave comments.
A taste of the EP. Here is blaster
https%3A//soundcloud.com/pinkshinyultrablast/01-blaster-m4a This week saw the release of new single Holy Forest from the debut album Everything Else Matters
https%3A//soundcloud.com/club-ac30/psu-holy-forest It's been getting lots of radio airplay & the album is due for release on 26th January. But thanks to Club AC30 records & noisey, you can listen to an exclusive stream of the whole album Recommended track (IMHO) is Glitter
Someone on twitter described them as "shoegazeski" The EP is well worth $5 & I bought the ltd edition clear vinyl of the album. Comes with a free digital lossless copy too. I read today that due to the surge in demand, they are pressing CDs that'll be available sometime in February. I couldn't wait that long really. I wanted it asap. <-- Obsessed.
!!Media Alert!! Pinkshinyultrablast will be live in session on BBC6 Music on Lauren Laverne's show Thursday 30th April. Show starts at 10am BST. Sessions usually from midday.
Yeah, I know. When they were on Lauren Laverne's show they said they were going back to Russia after the spring tour to record a new album & yet now they are back in blighty. I'm going to scour the interwebs to see if they're stopping off anywhere on the way (or on the way back)
