I'm tired. I've been waking up in the wee hours ruminating about the stressors of our school search. Will the attorney we consulted with take our case? Will the progeny get into the school there's an opening at? If he gets in, how the h#ll will we get him to and from school in Manhattan every day?
I'm also a little bummed because I've skipped a lot of dance classes in the last 6 weeks due to arthritis pain and travel. I was going to go tonight because my body is feeling better, but now I have some sort of spontaneous foot-stabby heel pain when weight bearing. If it's not too bad by the end of the day (some foot issues get better later in the day) I may just go and push though it because I miss dancing!
Arthritis sucks. It's snowing & very cold here so I'm in pretty rugged shape. It feels like the bones in my hands & feet are breaking + the spine stuff. On the bright side a friend in California makes incredible weed chocolates & sent me a box. I can only eat a quarter of one at a time. & they're creeper effects. An hour after ingesting I'm literally falling down. I think if I ate a half I'd be tripping balls as the kids say. Be good to yourself. I hope things work out well with your son so you don't have that stress. BTW: the doctors wanted to do a spinal abrasion on me & the insurance denied it. I guess they want me to have the potentially deadly surgery instead. If I kick the bucket it would save them money I guess. Talking to the doctor later in the week.

Thanks, gongoro73. 😺I really do feel mostly happy and satisfied, it’s just that I do terribly without enough sleep. It’s just a time of uncertainty right now, which makes me worry a little. Not so awful.

Plus this week I cover for my colleague... plus I've got an auditor over my head demanding answers on his stupid questions in writing... Last night I worked till 4 a.m. Tonight I'm just about to start my "night shift". Good thing is that my ultimate boss, the CEO, sent me home as I look and sound clearly ill because of my damned sinusitis. My direct boss wanted me at the office. On top of that yesterday I had to take Lion to our vet as he had injured his paw while playing with Tayga like a madcat. Thankfully, there was no need to any procedure and he "was told" to heal by himself

Free tip: start mailing directly to you CEO from time to time. "Inbetween bosses" hate that. And that can be fun. The same goes for dropping phrases like "I had a good chat with mr. X lately" (mr. X being your CEO). For firework, use "he asked a lot of things about you". Success guaranteed. Always here to help.

Hi, lioness. I am so sorry about your work. It is AWFUL that your HORRID boss wanted you to stay in the office. I hope your ultimate boss have your direct boss an earful about the fact people are not robots and they should work to keep you happy! Working those hours is not sustainable, even when someone is NOT sick.

Just got off the phone with my doctor. She’s sick as well. There’s a really nasty viral infection going around, and she believes I have it. She told me she’s been ill with it for over two weeks. Yay. Lots of liquids and bed rest for me. Too bad it cannot be the kind of bed rest I actually enjoy!
I think I’ll be spending Christmas in bed this year watching movies. Could be much worse, right ? Good thing is that we finally found out that our vacation requests for next week have been approved, so I won’t have to work for 10 glorious days in a row.

I'm really sorry to hear you're sick! So many people are right now, it's crazy! I think there is something to the idea our immune systems are in need of practice and exposure to more pathogens given the last few years.
If you can really take the time to do absolutely nothing you don't want to (work, socialize, cook, shop, clean) I hope it can feel helpful and stress-free.

I believe that I requested the three days of between Christmas and NY in early October. We were only told a day ago that our vacation requests for those three days had been approved. This new manager is horrible when it comes to vacation leave, based on our collective agreement, I think he had until mid November to inform us about winter vacation approvals. I could file a grievance, but I’d be blacklisted permanently if I did.
