So I think my power supply is dying in my desktop. I cannot get it to load. The Amber light is on but it will not beep nor load up. All three fans are going including the one for the power box. I cleaned the dust bunnies out of it but it still won't run. Any ideas?
Yes the fans are going but no beep to indicate it's loading. It doesn't get past the Amber light. Dell pc btw. I removed my external hard drives thinking maybe too much power there but it's still not loading. I can replace the power supply myself if that's what it is. It's not hard. I am not taking it to these fly by night computer people who are going to charge me $200 to change a $25 power supply

All of the fans are moving Edu. Is that what you mean?

No, the fan (cooler) can be in motion if it is loose but the processor is not being cooled properly and it will not make the correct cycles causing the shutdown of the PC.
At night...I hear the darkness breathe...I sense the quiet despair...Listen to the silence...At night...Someone has to be there...
Try one thing. I know it sounds daft, but I have seen this work on HPs before. Shut it down totally & take the battery off completely. Try firing it up with just the AC cable & see what happens. If that works have your battery checked out.

Thank you for asking Eduardo. I am hoping that is it. It's pretty old but I have custom upgraded it myself since I bought it. Between the three external hard drives and downloading/uploading I probably wore it out. haha
