The Jesus And Mary Chain are set to perform their classic 1985 debut album 'Psychocandy' at three UK shows this November.
The gigs will take place in anticipation of the album's 30th anniversary, with the band kicking off the trio of concerts at London's Troxy on November 19, following it with shows at Manchester Academy on November 20 and Glasgow Barrowlands on November 21. Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday May 16.
The band's last UK appearances took place at London's Roundhouse and Forum in 2008. Speaking about the impending 30th anniversary of 'Psychocandy', Jim Reid of the band has said: "'Psychocandy' was meant to be a kick in the teeth to all of those who stood in our way at the time, which was practically the whole music industry. in 1985 there were a great many people who predicted no more than a six month life span for The Mary Chain. to celebrate the approaching 30th anniversary of the album, we would like to perform it in its entirety. We will also perform key songs from that period that did not feature on the album."
The Jesus And Mary Chain will play:

Christmas just gone, I was seeing a girl and listening to Jesus And The Marychain at the same time. Erroneously, just the other week, I happened to listen to Happy When it Rains, and for no apparent reason, this made me think about her. Usually, I wouldn't give her the time of day, but here I was, thinking about her.
I'm not sure, but I think she single handedly ruined Happy When It Rains for me. Prior to my involvement with this girl (33), I probably rated the aforementioned song 6/10. Put it this way, I probably liked the song more than I disliked it. So she ruined it imo. No doubt, I probably liked the song more than I liked her, too.
Moving on, quite literally.. Since my altruistic moving on to pastures new (newer than her. And nicer too), now I probably rate Happy When It Rains 4/10, at best. I think it fair to say, she ruined that song for me. Forever. All I know is, inadvertently, she is a complete and utter bitch. And flat-chested, to boot.
I should hasten to add, nothing of the sort has ever happened regards The Cure. For the record (no pun intended), nobody has ever ruined a Cure song for me. And I'm not just saying that. I don't even know why I'm saying that. All you need to know is, dear reader, I've probably had narrow escapes, given all the women I have split up with.
This one time, I split with a girl, I probably made her, insisted even, she give me The Top Gun Soundtrack back. But, I still like all the songs, even Take My Breathe Away lol
