I had an email from TT this morning alerting me to the fact that there was some sort of exploit on their support board that exposed members passwords. Mail reads
Dear Tapatalk Forum Community,
Today we discovered that someone had used an exploit in a third party plugin on the Tapatalk support forums, leading to the disclosure of email addresses and encrypted passwords, and possibly passwords in cleartext if you attempted to login since December 9th.
Due to this incident, please log into www.tapatalk.com/v2 and change your password.
Please choose a strong password, containing a mix of upper and lower case letters, numbers and even symbols if possible. Never use the same password on more than one site. Passwords should be unique to each site they access in order to comply with basic security best practices. No other systems appear to have been affected and we will continue to perform audits. In the meantime our support forums will be brought back online but we will be rolling back the site approximately a week as a precaution. Posts and messages since that time will not be restored in this process.
Again, all passwords have been invalidated and will no longer work. Please reset your password using the reset password page and then following the instructions provided in the email.

Although it appears the "attack" was to their own support forum, if you are in any way concerned, I recommend you change your password for tapatalk just to be on the safe side. If you do notice anything weird with the tapatalk app, post it here & I'll feed it back to them straight away.
Yeah really, can't they put their technological energy to something more useful? Like inventing the Jetson Mobile! I want one of those! I've been waiting long enough.

I had a hunt around, but there have been some serious server issues in the past 48 hours which might have been the problem. This morning I had to wait ages for page loads but seems to have all calmed down now. I do know that the app store doesn't always update new versions of apps on time too, so check that you're running the latest version (7 I think). BTW, do you use TT pro or the freebie one? I want to know it it's worth going with pro or does it still flood the screen with ads?
