I love that the local library that I volunteer at has so many great books.
I have a signed copy of Girl in a Band from Kim's book tour. That's the only thing I've ever had signed in my presence, so it felt weird. She was very gracious and I made her laugh (probably at me, not with me) in our 15 seconds together.
I found the book a little problematic in that I think it suffered from poor editing. But it made me appreciate her more because not only is she a musician, but a visual artist, which I didn't know before. Would love to know what you end up thinking about it.
ETA: When the book came out, a male friend (and drummer) argued that it was low and petty of KG to air her personal laundry re: TM. At the time I argued vehemently against his viewpoint, then I came around to his way of thinking, At this point in my life, the internal pendulum may be swinging back the other way.

Viv's book is one of my favorite music autobiographies. Good stuff!
Just finished Kathleen Hanna's new autobiography last weekend. Unflinching, but very good. Also recommend The Punk Singer documentary from about a decade ago. It's good, as well.
This was written by our child's preschool teacher from when they were 2. It isn't the kind of book I'd normally pick up but it is wickedly funny and inappropriate so far and perfectly captures the area in which we live. It's awesome to realize your kid's teacher is subversive.
Had a long period with japanese litterature, and I am excited to read the new Murakami, that got released yesterday in danish. I’m not sure if I’m more fan of the danish translator og Murakami…
I'm currently reading The Upstairs House (Julia Fine) (not to be confused with The Upstairs Room) but I've been a chapter in for the last month now... so am I really reading it, or is it reading me?
