There is already a Burn video! I can't put the links because of my stupid phone, but here's the URL:
Maybe someone can open the video section and put it there? I've already watched it and it's perfect, Robert plays a little flute and he's simply adorable ♥
Still shocked about this song, I couldn't go back to sleep for the excitement It leaves me full of hopes for 2014!
Oh gosh, a special gift to see BURN alive!
At night...I hear the darkness breathe...I sense the quiet despair...Listen to the silence...At night...Someone has to be there...
BURN is like Fascination Street - they need to be 'LIVE' the studio tracks never have the same intensity.
Love Bob's smile at the end, he enjoyed it!!
So did we! Now they need to keep it on the set list as often as possible. Because it really highlights everyone! Great drums, great guitars, great keys and the bass part goes without saying...... powerful song!
And when Robert plays that recorder I lose it. Maybe he is practicing for The Wailing Wall!
Well, the road trip was a success. 679 miles one way from my home to New Orleans. Did it pay off?
I got to see Burn live.
Last week, I told my friends of my planned road trip to see The Cure in New Orleans. My friend Glenn (the only one that knows who The Cure is) said, "The concert will totally blow unless they play that song from 'The Crow'.
With all the seriousness that I could muster, as a Cure fan to the ignorant, I said, "That will not happen. The track is called "Burn" and the Cure has never performed it live".
Every word is true, not making it up.
Got to the show, sat through Kid Rock's performance. Great guy, his "Forty" song was pretty funny. About as far from the Cure's audience as you could get, though.
So I'm leaning on the front row rail, and Robert says "It's another song that we've never played before."
I recognized it from Robert's opening flute tweets. Wow, Glenn will be happy.
The show was pretty awesome. There was a great moment where Robert introduced "Doing the Unstuck", and the band went into playing "Friday I'm in Love". From the expressions on their faces, I think this was a band practical joke on Robert. He had to recover quickly and whip out the "Friday I'm in Love" lyrics, with keyboardist Roger O'Donnell having a wicked grin at Robert for the entire song. They did play Unstuck the next song.
I clocked the band playing a full two hours *before* the encore. The encore went over the scheduled cutoff time of 9 pm. As Robert and the rest left the stage, I yelled to them through the backstage (actually sidestage) screen, "Thank you, Robert!"
Did anyone else record the entire show?
