At the end of the day, what he does in his personal life is up to him. Whatever any of us think, to do something like this so late in life is incredibly brave.
I wonder if the rest of the band were supportive, I mean...it's also about family for Robert isn't it?
I don't know if he's still married to Robert's sister though?
Whilst his life is his life, and none of my business.... this was a question in my mind too
I guess because I'm new here, I'll be replying to some very old threads.
I always thought Porl was a Pearl because on various bits of footage of the Cure being interviewed, he always came across as having a gentle and caring side when the others were being all laddish and sarky. There's a bit of stuff where the others are ribbing Tol and he kind of reaches out, takes his arm and reassures him. I thought....ah, ain't that sweet.

That's an interesting observation Sigh, I saw my post from quite some time ago, now the thread has been dug up I might just as well correct myself a little maybe.. Porl/Pearl always will be an amazing artist, no matter how s/he identifies as. I don't want to come off weird. It's lovely to see how generally supportive everyone here is.
The dream had to end
The wish never came true

Whatever name he chooses for himself he will always be a very important part of The Cure's history.
