England has always been the home of the worlds greatest 'keepers, other countries say so!
ok Bancks...the 60's? maybe...i reckon there was a little guy called Lev Jashin around...Banks? good never the best Shilton? his better was in the late 80's first 90's...he was 40 old already. what he did before? Clemence? good really good, better than Shilton IMO, but in 82 he was yet in decline, never been great Seaman? maybe the best you named, maybe tenth keeper in the world, but i still say italians keepers are always the 1st or 2nd best keepers in the world
I love Arsenal, but every time i watch a game i say "i hope they will win" i stress until the last minute... we need to admit that Van Persie was the pillar, since he left , it's worse !!! But i was sure with Podolski it will be better sometimes when i watch a game, i don't have the feeling of watching the foorball I don't know, it may be a bad management or lack of motivation, me, all i wish them is to win something this year, although i'm not too sure they play Aug. 17 against Ashton Villa for the first league I have always said, when you support a team, we support their victories and their defeats....and i still think...
I spend thousands following Arsenal each season - we are not so far away from other teams, injuries always hit us badly, Diaby and Wilshere especially! Our defence is settled, we had the best away defensive record in the league last season, our midfield is fine, better than fine! Our forward line lets us down though, we need an out and out striker, an Ian Wright type player, a player who will score 75% of the chances created, we also need a 'keeper as the two Poles both wobbled badly and we've sold Mannone to Sunderland. Also, all the teams who finished above us have new managers, Mourinho will not have the same impact at Chelsea, City will not be so affective with an untried manager and Utd now have the entire Everton coaching staff so expect them to be crap also!! Arsenal just need two or three players, that's all. I'll still follow them all over the country and as much of Europe as possiblel. Doesn't matter that we have not yet been prominent in the transfer market, that is the Arsenal way - announce nothing until a deal is done.
Now this is pure love talking... If anything - Arsenal needs Fabregas back! For me he is still biggest potential in the world clearly!

Germans will not agree easily... Mayer, Schumacher, Köpke, Kahn, Neuer...

Sorry mate, but your so called "best" Italian keepers don't compare to Banks and Shilton at their peak, Clemence whilst a good keeper was never in Shilton's class it was just a shame that they were around at the same time.
As for what Shilton did before..hmm, two consecutive European Cup wins with Nottingham Forest in 1979 and 1980 to start with.
It's only the last decade or so that our keepers have been in decline, before then GOD is right we were (rightly so) respected for having the best keepers not just at international level but throughout our league. Unfortunately as with our outfield players the influx of foreign players into our game has ruined the development of our keepers.
God : i got the information this morning... the President of the Fiorentina said he had to sell players, for having Mario Gomez because he was too expensive....
btw...For me, the best keepers are Oliver Khan, Neuer (of course ) and Van der sar, someone know Dino Zoff?
