pączki. they are a traditional pre lent pastry in Poland. mostly only available for about 1 week a year although some break that rule. in chicago there's a big polish population & you can get these year round. i don't usually eat donut type stuff but i make an exception for these. very filling. i can only eat one in a sitting these days.

Agreed about the oysters. Everything looks awesome except maybe the mac & cheese. Not a fan. Mom (RIP) was a terrible cook & she cured me of mac & cheese for life amongst some other things.

It reminds me of when I worked post-college washing dishes (that’s what a private, liberal arts education got me, lol) at this very fancy, small, French restaurant. Once I started sleeping with two of the line cooks (a sordid tale!😯), I never ate so well every work shift. 🤭
