My chips are sort of soggy, but I had them frying for 5 minutes… blast! You’d think this would be easy! *grumble*
Not at all. Chips, fries, etc. are deceptive. It's kind of like cooking rice properly, I think. Takes perfect technique or something goes wrong.
I’m actually really glad you said that, I definitely felt like a bit of a failure when they didn’t turn out. I actually stuck them in the oven for a bit, which made them somewhat edible. I will attempt to make them the ‘proper’ way sometime soon !

Making candied orange and grapefruit peel because I'm going to try to make panettone for the first time tomorrow. I saved the boiling syrup for Mr. K so he can have some citrus-infused simple syrup for cocktails.
I'm going to be in and out of the kitchen all freakin' day. Here's croque monsieur breakfast casserole, which I was able to make ahead last night and store in fridge until baking this morning. Son felt he needed to assert his will, so deemed ham, mustard, and cheese together "disgusting" and wouldn't try it. More for us~

I have to make it someday. Must be good.
But I don't see And I don't feel But tightly hold up silently My hands before my fading eyes And in my eyes Your smile
I mistook stars reflected in a pond at night for those in the sky.

It wants me to create an account but I found another one - link It seems quite easy to make and very delicious. In one of the upcoming weekends I'm going to make it, especially that a new bakery has been opened in my neighbourhood. Their baguettes look very tasty.

I've opened a bottle of wine for the first time in... a year. I virtually don't drink these days. Last time it was a beer in summer. Even if I felt like it, I never opened it.
The wine is good, Italian, red and pleasantly warming. Cheers! to all absolutely wonderful Cure-heads. Enjoy Christmas!
