My granny makes the best poppy seed cheese cake! Unfortunately I can't find an English recipe of that one, it's a Thuringian specialty. And her liquor cake is awesome (& pericoloso, haha) as well!
I would take Boskop apples, they're a bit sourly, but very good for cakes, in my eyes. i've a recipe for two French Apple cake, but i have to find my file and i have to translate it into English. If you want them, please let me know it L.
