A Cure song for each of the main presocratic philosophers (just because, why not?):
Thales - The Same Deep Water as You (water as arche') Anaximander - The Hanging Garden (earth suspended in/surrounded by empty space) Anaximenes - Breathe (air as arche') Anaxagoras - LaMent(e) (nous, mind, as ordering force of all things) Heraclitus - Burn (fire as arche') Parmenides - The Only One (monistic conception of Being) Democritus - The Empty World (world just made of atoms in void) Pythagoras - Wrong Number (shocked by the discovery of irrational numbers) Empedocles - Round & Round & Round (cosmology based on alternated cycles of love / strife dominance).

I see being smart and having some time on your hands serves the rest of us well!
Was Empedocles drawn and quartered? If not, he should have been. That song.... nails on a chalkboard.

Ideally I would have needed something like a LoveStrifeSong to do Empedocles justice, but Lovesong only tells half of his story...

about Psycho it could have been and the lyric line "I’ll watch you drown in the shower"
