Just fitted a new spring to one of my sofas. Glad I didn't have my eye out or open up an artery with the sharp end. Phew, that was not as easy as I thought it would be

That doesn’t sound easy at all...
It wasn't. The spring is one of those wave type things like this
You have to hook one end into the clip, REALLY pull the thing & hook the other end into the opposite clip & hope it doesn't suddenly whip you in the face or whatever as the ends are really sharp.

Good on you for fixing it instead of chucking it in the trash. Glad there was no blood.

You know it's an Ikea sofa & it currently has a 10 year guarantee. When I called them I was told it only had a 3 year guarantee when it was purchased. So I asked if I could buy just the spring & was told I couldn't as they didn't have a part number. I then asked how they repair the sofas under guarantee & was told that they don't. They just replace them. Which means they have to dispose of the defective ones somehow. That's a sofa sized carbon footprint from a company that champions green beliefs. What utter BS! An upholsterer I got hold of told me where I could buy springs & I found one the right size & cost the planet 1 piece of broken 51 cm spring which can be melted down to make something completely new.

I get up shower dry my hair get dressed sitting here with my coffee refusing to go to work, but yes I will, and I feel a lump on my leg. So course the first thing I think is "Oh great. Now I have a tumor in my leg" Nope. Just a stray sock that got stuck in my trousers. Gives you a picture of how my day is going to go. haha Have a lovely day everyone!
back from that three hour session from the hairdresser. yes, the bleach and pink has to be done properly every now and then, having a glass of red wine and procrastinating to make dinner while having my “this time now three years ago” attack. it is the season...

always a season for the cure. missing it all.
I enlisted my husband to help me re-bleach my roots last weekend. Sadly, it didn't go well, and I was left looking like a calico cat. Just spending this evening re-doing it.

There's nothing like freshly dyed hair, eh?
oh dear... poor you! and yes, agree! though i prefer it after about two weeks, when it looks “naturally pink” with a hint of roots 😂
