Great albums that have rubbish cover art

That’s a great one! I can relate via another album from the same era with similar artwork.



It doesn’t qualify as a great album, either, but I went through a huge Boy George crush & joined the snail mail fan club. I still love the aesthetic in a weird way.

always liked Kill Uncle but this sleeve is pretty dreadful!

Good idea, terrible execution.

I'll still defend a fair amount of pre-Southpaw Mozz but Kill Uncle is a stinker! They should have waited 6 months, all the singles/B sides from that era were so luch better.

Hahahaha OMG that is truly awful! As an Art Director, even if the music had been good, I don't think I could bring myself to purchase that in a store. And I have sooooo many questions. Like, how lazy do you have to be to just steal the Pepsi logo? Who got so high that they thought a horribly put together photo montage obscuring the album title was a good idea? Don't even want to know what the hell is going on in that photo...

haha all so true!
they started out their career as a goofy, almost novelty band.  They started getting more serious before long, but that cover is their silly side coming through.  still, no excuse for that monstrosity! 
It's sad because, even if the songs are silly, they're very well written and catchy.
Hell, even their name was silly.  the mayor of toronto at the time they were starting to get popular attempted to ban them from the public conciousness based on their band name!
