Wow, very interesting choice to open with Low Red Moon. Not what I would have expected, as it's slightly more "dirge-ish." Nice culottes, Gail.
I saw them once at a small venue in North Carolina on that tour. They were solid and I still listen to Star sometimes when I'm in a very particular mood. It definitely reminds me of living in the South in my college years.
Musically, I think I can confidently say I find Throwing Muses a little more interesting / less accessible, but I will always have a soft spot for Belly.
Really loving the new Breeders album - really helps they keep it tight and simple. Great production too, not fat or nonsense at all
Ya, it's worthy for sure. I actually watched them in a small club with Dave Grohl around time of Last Splash. I had seen them earlier when Tanya Donnelly was in the band. Also saw Throwing Muses when Tanya was with them a few times. I was pretty into the 4AD during their heyday. Finally, saw Breeders a few years ago when they first got back together. They were excellent. Last time I went to Bumbershoot festival in Seattle. In 1 day saw Bob Mould, Breeders, Eric Burdon & the Zombies. Pretty good day of music for sure!
