All of this right here. Damn right it's number one!!! I'll accept no other answers.

1. A Forest

One of the great post punk singles, A Forest, was a cornerstone in the deconstruction of rock from the period. This most perfect of pieces of music hooked around that perfectly cyclic bass line and was a perfect example of creating atmosphere and tension around a piece of music. Of course the profound influence of Joy Division is in there but The Cure took it somewhere else and made it their own. Haunting to this day, this is still one of the great singles of the time.

OK, it's taken me a while to digest the choices on that list. It's been marinating in there for a few days now...

I am *pleasantly* surprised they included ACAG, but surprised, nonetheless. I cannot abide by including anything off of self titled, so sue me, slice me up.

Also glad to see they included 39, as it's not necessarily a "given." Strong, but not surprising, choices are Primary and Disintegration. I would've like to see something else from Pornography swapped out with One Hundred Years...

I think if their objective in creating the list was "a primer in the many 'sounds' of TC across their span so far", then they've succeeded pretty well.
