Do you make Cure compilations for yourself or others? I have introduced a few people to The Cure with compilations.
Right now I am listening to the ultimate compilation that I made. I call it Vanilla Smile and it's 14 volumes long. I put them on three mp3 discs. Altogether it's about 14 hours and 20 minutes long.
Vols. 1-3, Singles, B-Sides and More Vols. 4-5, Solo Tracks & Collaborations Vols. 6-7, Home & Studio Demos Vol. 8, Bloodflowers Demos & Lost Flowers Vol. 9, "The Cure" Demos & Peel Sessions Vol. 10, Peel Sessions & Cure Covers (by other bands) Vol. 11, Rarities & Lost Wishes Vol. 12, Alternate Versions & Remixes Vol. 13, Live & Unplugged Vol. 14, Live
...It's all stuff that didn't make an appearance on any box sets or deluxe editions.
I don't think I ever made a The Cure compilation. Not for myself anyway. I can just select The Cure on my iProd & hit shuffle & have a different experience each time. I do the same with The Sisters.
I don’t have any mixes for myself, but I have made mixes for friends who are not so familiar with The Cure. The most recent mixes are a pop one for a friend who only likes pop, and a post punk one for another friend who doesn’t like pop so much
on Spotify I have a mix that has all of the happy-go-lucky songs on it.. you know, like Just Like Heaven, 6 Different Ways, Lovecats...etc... then I have another mix that has all of the harder songs like The Scream, Cut, 100 Years..etc..
I do for the car, a whole mixture of album tracks, B sides even some demos. Good for long journeys and travelling home after a bad day at work! Not to mention my yoga playlists!
