I'll be seeing the Membranes supporting The Sisters later this year.
Nice in depth look, but I have to refute the argument that it was their "first" masterpiece.

Pronography is a gem in its own right for sure though

Yes. But that is just an opinion. I think the opinions could have been left out of the article because the rest of the content (pre-amble on punk through to psychedelia & experimentation along with the deep dive into Pronography itself & the incidental back stories) was really interesting to read.
Robb's always interesting & I do have a lot of time for Youth too. He's pretty smart.

& the other thing to consider is the use of psychedelia. It wasn't something necessarily "new" in their music.
When you get a moment, give Another Day a spin. Delightful toe-dip into psychedelia with the guitars.
The layered guitar effects in A Forest are straight out of a 1960's BBC effects archive (not unlike classic Doctor Who really).

From Faith, I think the only song that almost reached Pronography levels of intensity was Doubt (prolly wouldn't have sounded too out of place on the latter album).
