I don't quite know, but he's really into it. You can see he's feeling every word and every note.
With all of his songs... for sure. I love the way that he really gets into them. He puts everything into them, all of his emotions just for a 5 minute song - it's pretty amazing.
A lot of performers just throw away their live performances as a "I hate to do this dreadful task to make money" but with Rob, it is more like, "I have to do this performance to give my fans a piece of my soul" .... yeah, that's it... Robert Smith shares his soul on stage with those who care to share theirs back.
Yes, exactly ! It gives life to the songs he's singing, and I love it too. It's really something to be treasured.
Not so much part of a song, but.... I'm driving to work and Sleep When I'm Dead is on and after I hear; "in a monkey suit again..." I start thinking about all of the times I've seen Robert wear an actual suit... Then I started thinking about the Mint Car video... Does anyone else think this is by far the best part of the video?
Laney this is my favourite part of the Mint Car video too I adore all the facial expressions

The whispering and soft voice in Secrets.
Push how strawberries and cream is sung and the escalating go,go,go push him away.
The beautiful intro to Plainsong and the first line I think it's dark and it looks like rain you said. So many things about Plainsong actually how certain words are pronounced.
I love the little words in many songs like the days of the week in the Caterpillar as mentioned earlier and the Fly me to the moon in Lovesong.
I love the flickas and cattas in the Caterpillar.
The pronunciation of swollen lips in Fire In Cairo.
Intro to Another Journey By Train.
The day I discovered that some of the opening cat meows in The Love Cats was played on guitar well live at least (I hadn't realised until I saw The Cure live for the first time).
My all time favourite is Robert changing the words to the songs live some deliberate like the time in Let's Go To Bed "You think you're tired now wait until....(3 or 6 or 2)" and Disintegration I don't think is as deliberate, from the "breaking apart" again section a fairly common one I think is the "take him out like he's going home again". The lyrics to Faith sometimes change quite dramatically too.
