Porl and Bob got into a fight one night when they were drunk over the fact that Porl was changing his name to Pearl and wanted to wear pretty dresses. Porl went to go take a swing at Bob and that was when Janet walked into the recording studio where they were and ended up hitting her instead. Bob, being the ever-protective big brother to little sister Janet, took his guitar and hit Porl across in the head. This is why he had to grow out his (remaining?) hair or put on wigs, to cover the giant gash in his head. Janet finally recovered from falling unconscious and decided that she had enough of the rock-star life and told Bob that if Porl stays in the band, she would leave the entire family and move to Canada. Bob cannot have that because he cannot lose his family, so he kicked Porl out of the band and told him never to return. So now as Pearl, he calls up Lol and says, "You should write a book and I will do the artwork because we are the outcast members of the Cure and we can never go back."
That brings us to present days.
This is all a lie. I don't think anyone really knows what happened.

A new album with sound similar to Bloodflowers would be a dream, though I actually liked the self-titled as well, so if it were similar to it I wouldn't complain either If they followed the direction of ICNBTS and Step Into The Light I think that could be interesting and possibly better than 4:13 (not that it was *that* bad, it had its moments..) The current line up is fine for me, I think Reeves could bring something new to the table so to speak. Also...
I was actually thinking just yesterday on my drive out to my parents house, blasting Galore in my car (and singing...badly)... What would you think of Robert was the next one to leave the band? -- heheh, he sacked himself?? Seriously though, let's say Rob is kind of done with the band but the rest of the members (present or past) want to keep going and make more Cure music... Knowing that Reeves is a singer himself, he takes over on vocals... They go by the name of The Cure, they sing Cure songs... But would you personally still consider it to be The Cure?
To me, Rob is The Cure - so it would never be the same to me...

I think all fans and the rest of the band realise that Robert is The Cure, it would be quite risky to something like this... I doubt they would, to be quite honest I doubt they'd even keep together as a band if Robert was to leave. Reeves probably would spend more time doing what he's doing outside The Cure anyway, I like to think that maybe Simon and Roger would start something together, watching them both on stage it seems like they get on quite well I don't know about Jason... Well, it is an interesting thing to think over.
The dream had to end
The wish never came true
And the girl starts to sing
figie no drinks for me today... I drink to get through the work week, not the holidays!
Don't mind me, I'm just sitting here procrastinating with my passionfruit tea and Faith playing in the background...
I drove home today listening to 4:13 and never realized how much I love the bass in The Promise....
So regarding a new album, Robert once said that the new album, whenever it comes out, will not sound anything like what the Cure has done previously... In fact I think it was the interview that sang posted where he said that Cure fans can try and imagine what it would sound like and they still won't get it right... That being said, I decided if it is an album full of Deep Green Seas, Just Like Heavens, Drowning Man, a pinch of Cut and a dash of Catch I would be pretty happy....
Speaking of Just Like Heaven... Isn't the version on Join The Dots to die for??? Everytime I hear it I just want to melt....
Okay no more procrastinating for me... I decided that I am going to finish rewriting a chapter a night on the book I'm working on... yes, while still listening to Faith.... (I once wrote a 50 page paper in High School on the subject of Goth while listening to Disintegration... I got an A).
