Update - it’s sunny again and we received a grand total of .8 mm of rain. That’s it. It’s a flippin’ dust bowl out there, which is pretty alarming. Need lots more rain.
Something "broke" the humidity overnight & today it feels so fresh compared to yesterday when I almost had to cut my way through the thickness of it to get anywhere. To give an idea, I collect the condensate from the A/C in 10 litre containers on my balcony that I then use to water the plants. Yesterday I managed to collect 8 litres of water in just over 5 hours from 1 A/C unit. Not sure what it was though. There was no storm at all.
I went out at 10:00 a.m. this morning and it was already 88 degrees. It's just not cooling off much at night. It wouldn't be bad if it weren't for the million percent humidity. Many days straight, now.

Yeah. It's the humidity that's doing me in too. It's a bit better than it was midweek, but it's still really oppressive.
It has just rained like crazy here. Which is good as we need it. Thunder storm too. Hopefully that will really break the mugginess. It'll certainly do the grass some good & also help the grapes. No rain will make for a pretty crap harvest & the wine will be too sweet.
It’s been a tough summer. Super hot and incredibly dry, and lots of smoke from all the forest fires. Crops are ruined, and farmers have started culling their herds. Horrible stuff. Maybe things will turn around in August ?

we're in another hot spell, too. not as bad as earlier in the season but over 90 F. smoke from forest fires starting to become a factor. hopefully will be short lived. stay cool!
Apologies for sounding like a broken record, but the forecast here is predicting highs in the mid to high 30’s all week. It’s been one hell of a hot and dry summer. Speaking of the dry conditions, here is a photo of some pastureland on the Canadian prairies. Notice how the grass is brown and not at all green. It’s an alarming image to stay the least.Â
Edited to say that I’m wiping sweat from my eyes.
