I went to three different shops today and sadly I could not find a turkey ! I settled on a nice chicken so not all in lost. Also bought lobster tails for my NYE celebration!
You eat that on NYE? Tradition here in Hungary is not to eat anything that could fly or swim as it represents luck, health & wealth flying or swimming away in the new year.
Wow, that is very surreal. Have you had any visions or auditory hallucinations, yet? What on earth are you spending your time doing?!
You're almost there - hang on!
Funny you should say that. I experienced sleep paralysis for the first time in my life last night. It's pretty terrifying. Luckily, I had heard about it before so it didn't freak me out too much. I guess the whole situation is conducive to something like that.
Apart from that, I read a lot, eat too much and spend too much time on on the internet, and wonder what the next meal might be. I basically repeat the same cycle every day. Interestingly, I still manage to procrastinate on some things that I really ought to be doing. I have also learned that listening to Coil, as fitting as it may be, is not helping.
Sleep paralysis is still something I have nightmares about, and I haven't had it in much longer than a decade. It's like being buried alive, I imagine.
Procrastination is kind of fascinating, eh? It has nothing to do with resources. And yes, this is probably not the time for any form of art that can drive you mad.

Lobster isn’t something I traditionally eat on NYE. As a kid, on NYE we’d usually eat tourtiere (meat pie) and had mille-feuille for dessert. My maternal grandmother is from France and my maternal grandfather is French Canadian, so I guess we’d dine on a mashup of traditional French/French Canadian foods. Mmmm So hungry thinking about it!
So on NYE you’ll have a meatless dish of some sort ? What do the British traditionally eat on NYE?

NYE would usually be pork or frankfurters (virsli) Then, at midnight, lentils. Because they signify coins/ wealth. The British? Can't remember TBH. Haven't lived there for 20 years

Sorry I have to ask, how do you eat your lentils ?

I don't ever eat lentils personally. I hate them. But the Hungarian tradition is to eat them & you can find the typical recipe here.

It is probably one of the strangest and most unsettling things I've ever experienced. Apparently, it's reasonably common and there is nothing you can do about it but I would rather not experience it again.
I saw a gorgeous owl this morning during my daily a.m walk with pup. I didn’t get to admire it too much though as its hooting scared the crap out of puppy so much so that he retreated back home. 😉

I love owls. There's one that lives up the road somewhere & it's massive. It sometimes swoops overhead when I head down to the pub (those were the days) & the shadow on the ground made by the streetlights is really spooky

it was dark out, but I think the one I saw was a Great Horned Owl:
