The current tour is not an extensive album tour, they're only playing a few Lost World tracks rather than the whole album. On previous album tours the whole of the album is played with very few exceptions...Doubt during Faith tour, Icing Sugar during kissing tour, Truth Goodness and Beauty from The Cure album.
I expect the band to release SOALW after this year's tour, it'll be a successful album due to the great response the new songs are getting, then they'll do a tour playing all of it, those are the shows I'll be excited to see.
Of course I'll get the new album, been waiting 15 years for it! I'm a genuine fan of all their albums, I even enjoy the two I consider their weakest, The Cure and Wild Mood Swings.
Never said that you aren't a major fan of the band,of course you are.
But i just can't get it...you didn't attend any of their latest European dates, strange of you.
What do i believe? this currnet tour will be their last one.So in that case you just missed your change to see them for once more.
Then again who knows? they might perform for a last time in RAH some time later in 2024/2025 ?
I do expect the new album to be released by the end of the tour and after some time perhaps Roger will quit as he did in the past or some other member of the band.
We are towards the end so just enjoy every second possible.
p.s. :weakest albums you said? self titled and 4:13 you mean.
;-)
There will be a lot more tours, Robert loves to gig so much, and they'll want to show off all the new songs after the album's released.
I prefer 4:13 dream, it's probably one position above WMS/TC but below the near perfection of 3ib->Wish+Bloodflowers.

Alone/Endsong are the best tracks in the new album, nothing will surpass them both. Rest three of them are in the same key (A Fragile Thing,And Nothing Is Forever,Another Happy Birthday).
I Can Never Say Goodbye is a lil different at the middle of the song because of Reeves American way of playin the gtr. I don't think the rest 5 or so songs will be better than them to show them in another tour. This is it all, take it or leave it. But okay,dreaming/wishing is for free (yet) so keep on waiting Mr. Alpha.

It's obviously all subjective and no-one is right. For me, instead, 4:13 Dream is their worst together with self-titled. Self titled could have been a much better album with a different song selection. For example, if they had included Please Come Home and A Boy I Never Knew and if they had had TG&B and Going Nowhere in all versions (if they had had just one worldwide version).

Again, it's all subjective, but for me Endsong is by far the best of the new ones. Then I put ICNSG (although it's almost ruined by Reeves's airplane taking off like solo). Then I put A Fragile Thing, then Alone, then ANIF, then AHB.
But I consider only Endsong and ICNSG to be great. The others are good, but not at the level of their best stuff.
All in all I think the new album will be somehow at the level of Bloodflowers. Better than the last two, but inferior to any album done up to Wish included.
For example, if you take the b-sides of Disintegration or the b-sides of Wish overall, they are both a stronger set of songs than these new songs, IMO.
