Will just have to wait a couple of hours to be able to listen to it. But it would be a bit disappointing to me if it is really the same music just with lyrics. They were all raving about the newly composed songs and that they (or Robert) have to decide which one will make it on the new album but than they recycle an old one? Did Robert introduce the song as "New Song" at the concert?
It'a new song as it's never been released before. The band has always used old ideas to make new songs: 1st Plastic Passion version became A night like this, World War became Shake Dog Shake, Uyea Sounds became Underneath the stars and so on... It's never been a problem, why should it be now ?
In this case the music is basically identical. It's not a problem. But it's not a new song. Only the lyrics are new, really.
I'm so grateful I discovered both AHB and Lost Flower #1 (and the other demo versions) yesterday. It made my day, I mean my week, I mean my year, I mean my life. No, that was exagerated. But I really love the sadness and dispair in this new song, those lyrics... so heartbreaking. Curious were it leads us tonight and in the shows that follow.
I like it. It has this film noir vibe, where this singer sits on a stool in a pale spot in a bar in Paris late at night in a tux with the bow tie hanging around the neck, and sings this kind of song, where he almost speaks instead of singing - if you know what I mean? It’s a bit difficult to explain
