I saw them a lot around the time Doolittle came out. There were 1 or 2 shows where the setlist was in alphabetical order & 1 time they opened for Jane's Addiction (absolutely destroyed Jane's). When they got back together before Coachella I drove across the state to see them play in a small club in Spokane, WA. I like the new bass player fine but do miss Kim Deal some.
quite excited about the new album but haven't got it yet. only saw them once on bizarre loreley in may 1989 when i did not know them... only to discover wonderful doolittle four months later π

Lucky you! Doolittle is still a great album....
Not sure about the new album . It is good, I think the second half is stronger than the first half, but they haven't gone out their comfort zone. Having said that, I like the new bassist, she fits in really well, which is big complement as I really like Kim Deal (not hot on their vocals though). Interesting observation; all the tracks are shorter than most Cure song intros!

still got some time to explore it, will see them end november in cologne and yes, their songs are never really long!
