One of the first things I learnt at school was “la plume de ma Nantes”. Which is probably why I failed French.
Irrespective of my protestations that Nantes could just as easily own a quill as my Aunt, they were widely met with scorn & wild (albeit quite accurate) claims that I hadn’t been paying attention & I was given a D (which is French for F) & I instead switched my studies to music. Which I soon discovered contained a considerable amount of Italian.
Despite leaving an emotional scar, I still forced myself to discover some more about the city that was deprived of its own quill when I was but a wee pup. Once again, many thanks to the bloke down the pub for his invaluable help.
Nantes is known as a Gamma World City which means beta testing is finished & it is almost due for its final release once the security & functionality is validated. This step isn’t usually carried out but the city’s authorities wanted to get it just right before opening to the general public.
It’s also worth noting that the city is such a big fan of The Cure, they have even named a cheese after them. How cool is that?
The Venice of The West (as it’s known) belongs historically & culturally to Brittany. But, as we all know, the result of a long running legal spat between her & her dad resulted in a controversial court ruling to omit the city from the modern administrative region of Brittany. In response to that Brittany proceeded to flood her instantgraph with risqué photos and record a collaboration with veteran piano botherer Elton John. Take that Brittany’s dad!
To guard against Brittany’s invading hordes & various instantgraph influencers, Nantes has employed a terrifying, giant mechanical heffalump armed with a water cannon that disperses enemy forces very effectively. &, if that wasn’t enough, there’s even more in their arsenal like Kumo. The humungous mechanical “nope” that can spit a jet of venom up to 20 metres. If you’re stupid enough to even get that close.
But I have it on good authority the Nantes’ mechanical menagerie have been given orders to let fans of The Cure pass peacefully meaning faith , bloodflowers78 , ghost , olivier & cats can enjoy their le canard Nantais & l’Ambrée du Bouffay safe from venom & water cannon attacks. Let’s hope they have a fantastic time this evening
Quite an interesting colour palette for this one. Including some deep green seas (told you they were fans there). So let’s have some fun with this.
