At Night I posted a link to an attempt (from someone on Twitter I believe) at the new lyrics, but some minor changes needed, like, indeed 'no regrets'. But soon we'll find out the exact words on the inner sleeve I hope!
I think it is about his parents. I love how Simon puts a reassuring hand on Robert.
This songs is so brilliantly built up right from the start... When I first heard the intro, it felt like a lovesong, full of hope and dreams, like a warm blanket on a snowy day... but then suddenly, at around 1:14 something happened instrumentally already, as if the shadow of love reared its head, adding desperation and disbelief and nothingness to the mix... cause "Nothing is forever"... I had exactly that same feeling when verses turned at the end of "Bloodflowers", when reality agressively slipped into the love story... to protect oneself from allowing too much happiness and face reality... Those turning points bring me to tears every time... Both because of their truth, but even so because of their immense beauty.
I remember when "Before Three" debuted live prior to the album release many people were saying the same and also things like "already an instant classic" but later when the studio version on the album had been heared you barely read anything like this anymore. Let´s wait and see how the album version is going to sound.
