After all the destruction (so far)*, some actual construction happened. The silly archway between the entrance hall and the kitchen has been filled in
One of the old bedroom doors is now a wall
And, where there used to be a built in cupboard in the east bedroom, the wall got knocked down into the bathroom & walled off behind for the washing machine & an electric boiler.
Just the sight of new beginnings has cheered me up no end.
*Whoever poured the cement for the existing living room floor filled the space between the concrete joists & panels with any old tat they could find. Bits of brick, polystyrene, screwed up paper, glass. I even found bottle caps in there. Bit like this Thing is, with floor heating, there needs to be insulation between the the cement top layer & the concrete panels otherwise we end up losing heat to the garage & basement level. So all that's got to come up & some time next week, yours truly will be getting stuck in with a jack hammer before I clean it all out and lay the insulation ready for the new floor to be poured.
There were a few asbestos tiles in the attic that the previous owner left. Along with a heap of other stuff. I called him and he came to take it all away.

Good good! Just making sure you’re staying safe and healthy over there!
Packing's nearly done & I have had enough of stairs....& boxes....and packing tape. Logistics are fun. Moving into the holiday home I manage over summer until all the work's finished at the new place. So a lot of stuff is going straight to the attic space at the new place, out of the way & cocooned in plastic sheeting to keep the dust out. I reckon I've lost a few kilos in the past 3 days & my calves are starting to look like Jack freakin' Grealish's

Um, you cannot afford to lose any kilos! Me yes you no. Haha
First night in the stop-gap place tonight. Have to go back to the old flat to take down all the shelves & decommission the entertainment system. Oh joy. Iggy's starting to calm down a bit though. She was completely freaked out at first but she's warming to it. Poor sod's going to have to go through it all again in a couple of months.
Finally out of the old place. Lot of work getting the entertainment system and the units off the wall. going to rethink that layout for the new place so that I can actually get to connections & terminals without the need for power tools

The very nice people from Richer Sounds did that for me, set uo the music, speakers and tv in the new place - lots of measurements and high pitched sounds involved
