We need a thread for this music. I don't think I'm the only fan here. Quite excited about the new Spiritualized record next month & alleged tour. Also, my remasters of Lazer Guided Melodies & Pure Phase are arriving today in the mail. I ordered them as a birthday present for myself & they are arriving 1 day early. Yay! I ordered them from Bandcamp because in theory the artist gets a bit more money than from Amazon, etc.
Pure Phase is an absolutely magical album, they made bigger records after that but not better. Ladies and Gents is also a classic, obvs, but it can't top it's first track which is a bit of a problem.. There's a now long out of print live album from the Pure phase era too, highly recommend that but it aint cheap.
The first and last band I saw in a standing venue (tiny!) where the crowd chose to sit down for the duration.
I saw Spacemen 3 decades ago. I think they were on the same bill as Gaye Bykers On Acid & The Leather Nun. It's al a bit of a blur to be honest. Much like at the time

I've got the live album on computer. It's a fave. Maybe they will put it out again.

Did you know that the cool piano part on Cop Shoot Cop is Dr John? Jason was worried that it was too out there for the Dr but the Dr assured him that was exactly what he was into. Someone should do a film of Dr John's life. Fascinating stuff & he was a fabulous musician that could & would play anything.
