I have a drawer full of plastic utensils from takeout, even though I requested not to receive ‘em.
If I get them I re-purpose them. The knives are quite handy for getting plaster or glue into narrow spots & the forks/ sporks are good stirrers. Most of what comes with delivered food here is wooden nowadays. That just gets used on the BBQ/ grill as kindling
Quite eye opening to see how many times you need to use one of those to make it more friendly than single use plastic. I have cotton & nylon bags that I have been using for years. Even before the shops started charging for the plastic ones which I avoided on principle as they are just a mobile advertising board & I am certainly not paying for the privilege of advertising a store that makes uber profits and still raises prices. My nylon bag came from the national paramedics service and has their logo & motto on. I'll advertise them no problem. They're fecking heroes. It also packs into a little pouch so it's handy to have when an impromptu shop happens. The cotton ones are band totes. But I have used them hundreds of times each, so plastic can get bent as far as I'm concerned.
Yeah, I have to admit that I get hung up on the “end-of-life”, biodegradability aspect more than other parts of the bag life cycle (larva, pupa, etc.). I do know that we have a big bag o’ bags in our Harry Potter closet that we use into the ground. In it you will find any type of bag you could dream of, from “single use” (never!) plastic, to paper, to polypropylene, to cotton.

Remember: just don’t get left holding the bag.
You have a bag o' bags too? I thought it was just me.... & my mum.
I’ve been using two shopping baskets for years, and they’re still in great condition.
What kind of baskets?
I received two of these for free when I was grocery shopping years ago. They are made of plastics, but they’ve held up nicely and I’ve used them exclusively while grocery shopping over the past 4-5 years.
