Making an album of space music now, using these keyboards. So listening to that type of stuff now. Old analog keyboard music: Kraftwerk, Blade Runner soundtrack, and so on.
The first track we banged out ... just an instrumental; but inspired by all things space.
That album is doing ok: The first guy to buy it (actually bought 2 - Rollin in the money now!) is the guy from Blur, and Steve Kilbey of the Church let us know he liked the cover of Reptile. Well, that makes it worth the effort!
If anyone doesn't have the 7 smackers and really wants a copy, I can arrange to send you the mp3 version by email. Just let us know on Twitter or email. Fuzz Finger <dickbetty2021[AT]gmail[DOT]com>
But this latest one that we are working and is described as follows (Who wrote this? I won't fess up to it!).
"Symphonic rock, reggae, space music. Float through space and ride the light. Fuzz Finger's "Holiday on Mars" is not a music album as much as it is a space vehicle that will transport you to places unknown where your dreams float without gravity or predictability. Wonderful to listen to with the lights off. You can be anyone you want this time around: You can be Shiva, God of Love, this time around."
It is a cool album. Or it will be, as soon as we finalize 2 more tunes and mix it.
Any of you that are on Twitter, stop by and say "Hi" - we don't bite, unless you want us to
Now going to look for the thread on the New Cure album; Bobby Smith said it's the last ... can't blame the guy. I'm sure he's tired. He said it's dark and more like P0rnography. I am not holding my breath. But there's an outside chance that he put a lot of work into it and that it's a masterpiece. If you're going to go out, go out on top. But I didn't hear that kind of edge during the last few shows and a few members of the band seemed down or slacking or not into it.
Jumping Someone Else's Train is my current favorite song of theirs: Bob, Lol, Simon ... no frills. Great tune. Great bass line. Pure energy and space dust.
She's an alien beauty queen Eyes so dark and skin so green She takes me so far away Into outer space we stray
Oh Star Girl Dance into the skies Oh Star Girl You make our rockets rise
--------
Yes, we released our latest album. Every word of the Ode to Star Girl is meant in a heartfelt way; and yes, people should pick up their socks, unless they wear sandles, and in that case, they should pick up their sandles and go to the Beach before the weather gets cold.
Will be posting more about the album on the proper thread.
Mary had a little lamb It's fleece was white as snow And everywhere that Mary went, her lamb was sure to go
Jack be nimble, Jack be quick Jack jump over the candle stick Here's the church, here's the steeple Open the doors and see the people
---- FROM: HOLIDAY ON EARTH
Men in coats that try to find And decontaminate your mind
Floating on a deep dark sea Look at you looking at me
And all your thoughts I purify I am reborn before I die
Everybody wants to find me I don't know why. What's your story?
